About Us

For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me. Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘ Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You drink? And when did we see you a stranger, and invite You in, or naked and clothe you? Mission Statement

The Timothy Project is a faith based, ecumenical service agency based in Asheville,NC. Through partnerships with churches and community service providers, we help identify, support and develop mission projects in the Southeast. With the life and work of Jesus Christ as our model, we seek to bring the message of hope to people in need by means of hands-on ministry. Our goal is the effective coordination of church group mission trips through our experienced leadership.

Cliff Christian, Founder, Director of The Timothy Project

Cliff Christian, MDIV is the director of The Timothy Project. He has been a church pastor, licensed pastoral counselor, church staff person and active lay leader. He founded The Timothy Project in 2007 with the purpose of exploring faith in action through missions. Micah 6:8 has been central to the focus of this ministry, as we seek justice and mercy in our communities. Cliff lives in Asheville, NC and is married to Jeanette, a public school educator. Their daughter Lauren is a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill.
